About

Premium data work, built around university talent.

Opytask was founded on a simple frustration: frontier AI labs pay between $40 and $120 per hour for high-quality rubric writing, code review, and subject-matter evaluation—yet the platforms students hear about most still pay pennies per microtask and never verify who is doing the work.

We think there is a better fit in the middle. US university students already hold the credentials, the technical fluency, and the discipline these briefs demand. They are just rarely offered the opportunity. Opytask closes that gap. Every contributor on the platform has a verified enrollment at an accredited US university, and every brief is priced at a real hourly rate we publish up front.

The company is small and intentionally so. We do not run incentive referrals, gamified streaks, or per-click rewards. We do not outsource QA. We treat contributors the way a serious research lab treats its research assistants—with scope, with deadlines, and with pay.

If you are an undergraduate or graduate student at a school like Stanford, MIT, UC Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, NYU, or Michigan, the application takes about five minutes and is decisioned within two business days. We have a limited number of seats at any given time because we match briefs to availability, not the other way around.

For labs, research groups, and AI companies interested in working with the Opytask contributor network, get in touch directly—we scope projects monthly and prefer ongoing engagements.
